2 – 25 THE NUTMEG PRINCESS The award winning musical by Richardo Keens-Douglas will be staged on weekends only
at the Marryshow Folk Theater.
January 26 – 29 SPICE ISLAND BILLFISH TOURNAMENT
This annual tournament attracts fishermen from around the world with cash prizes totaling EC$100,000 for first, second and third place boats. Individual prizes are also given for the biggest game fish.
January 28 – Feb 3 GRENADA SAILING FESTIVAL
The seventh Annual Grenada Sailing Festival promises a lot of action with more than 4 races, regattas an all day craft market and a cultural street festival.
January 29 YOUTH FESTIVAL 2000
This will be held at the Trade Centre, Grand Anse to highlight the importance of youth in the process of nation building. There will also be a Mr. & Miss New Millennium Show, exhibits and Awards Presentations
February 7 26th ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE
This day is a National Holiday in observance of the islands’ independence from Great Britain. Among the activities for the day is a Float Parade and cultural displays.
February 20 TRUE BLUE BAY RESORT, PURSUIT RACE
This race will be from the Grenada Yacht Club to the True Blue Bay Resort, it is scheduled to begin at about 10:30 a.m.
March 4 – 6 INTERNATIONAL CRICKET
Three Day international Cricket match Zimbabwe Vs Board XI at the National Stadium, St. George’s
March 4 GRENADA INTERNATIONAL FOOD AND DRINK BAR
This brings together most of the nationalities resident in Grenada with a grand display of foods indigenous to those countries. Entertainment for children and cultural activities are also a part of the event.
March 6 – 7 CARRIACOU CARNIVAL CELEBRATIONS
Carnival on the Sister Island is held at the Pre-Lenten time. Music fills the air during the two days of the Parade of the Bands. Prior to this there is a Kiddies Carnival and competitions to select
the King & Queen of the Mas Bands and the Calypso Monarch.
March 12 GRENADA YACHT CLUB RACE
This event will be held at the Grand Anse Beach.
March 12 – 18 ST. PATRICK’S DAY CELEBRATIONS
The celebrations take place in Sauteurs, the town of Sat Patrick’s. Come and enjoy exhibits of local arts & crafts, agricultural produce, food, drinks and a cultural extravaganza.
March 18 – 19 GRENADA TRIATHLON
Athletes participate in two days of individual and relay events that test their endurance in swimming and running. Organized by the Grenada Triathlon Committee the events start at the Camerhogne Park Grand Anse, Sat George’s.
April 8 INTERNATIONAL CRICKET
The 4th One Day International Cricket match – West Indies Vs Pakistan, at the National Stadium.
April 9 The 5th One Day International Cricket
Zimbabwe Vs Pakistan, at the National Stadium, Sat George’s.
April 19 – 24 GRENADA POWER BOAT REGATTA EASTER
The second Grenada Powerboat Regatta is expected to surpass the last participation from about thirty (30) boats from Trinidad and Sat Vincent. The Regatta will include a number of onshore activities in addition to the spectacular racing off Grand Anse beach.
April 21 GOOD FRIDAY – PUBLIC HOLIDAY
Church services to mark the death of Christ are held throughout the island.
April 21 – 23 EASTER RACES
The races will be held on the Grand Anse beach during the Grenada Powerboat Regatta.
April 22 – 24 CARIFTA GAMES
This takes place at the National Stadium. This annual athletic event held in a different island each year will be held in Grenada for the first time. Athletes in the region from Bahamas in the North to Trinidad & Tobago in the South will be competing at these Games.
April 23 – 24 PETITE MARTINIQUE REGATTA
This includes sloops, open boats and swimming races, together with some on shore activities such as tug of war and greasy pole contest.
April 24 EASTER MONDAY KITE FLYING COMPETITIONS
Competitions are held at various locations around the island. Many beach parties are also organized for this day. Competitions are also held in Dover Carriacou.
April 16 – 22 ST. MARK’S DAY FlESTA
The seaside town of Victoria’ in the parish of Sat Mark’s comes alive with local exhibits of arts / crafts and
agricultural produce together with cultural performances and a street festival.
May 1 LABOUR DAY CELEBRATIONS – PUBLIC HOLIDAY
A parade, rally and parties are held in honour of the island’s workers.

The town of Grenville in the largest parish of Sat Andrew’s, is the location for this lively celebration. Local arts & crafts, food, music and tours of scenic sites in the parish combineto make this a festival not to be missed.
August 11 – 15 Grenada’s Carnival
The island comes alive during this celebration with Kiddies, Steelband and Calypso Competitions. Jouvert, Traditional
Mas and a Parade of the Bands on Monday and Tuesday bring everyone together during this exciting period. The
Monday and Tuesday are Public Holidays.
August 17 – 20 SHOWCASE
A trade show showcasing arts, craft and food items from islands in the region. Cultural activities are also a part of
the four day event which will be held at the Trade Centre, Grand Anse.
