My husband and I are very interested in visiting Martinique. We want our children to experience all the festivities as well as being there to see the 2009 Carnival which is located in Fort-de-France.
We have no clue or idea as to what hotel would be best for us to stay in. So, before we go ahead and
make any reservations.
We’d really appreciate hearing from someone else’s point of view, who could provide us with good tips,
advice, suggestions & information on where to stay? When exactly does carnival begin?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you are interested in seeing the Carnival in Fort-de-France, I suggest you stay at a resort that is close by. Fort-de-France has more than one resort.
For instance, if you want to stay in a resort right on the beach, I consider you staying at Pointe du Bout or Les Trois Ilets.
If you want to avoid traffic, don’t hesitate to take the shuttle boats which is available for every thirty minutes from Pointe du Bout & Trois Ilet to Fort-de-France Services is over between 5:45 am to 8:00 pm
depending on the day.
I suggest before you make any kind of arrangements, be sure to look out for all-hotels Special Rate’ and you will save on your hotel stay! The carnival is certainly one of the best known and most animated annual
festival.
Martinique’s Carnival Event provides parades as well as very large street parties where people are welcomed into the celebrations from around the globe. During the parade the male spectators and participants play dress up and act as women. Also, there is a dress code that everybody highly respect.
For example, they wear multi-colors on Sunday, red on Tuesday, black and white on Ash Wednesday.
The Carnival runs from February through March, but Keep in mind, on some of the islands, carnival season lasts for over a month, and the exact dates vary from year to year.
